a christmas tradition.

so every year our family packs up, piles in and heads out to Eustis, FL where you can find this treasure of a spot. this is Santa's Christmas Tree Forest, and we have been coming here since i can remember. mom, dad, sisters and now our growing families. the two little ones you see are my nieces emily (7yrs old) and hannah (18 months). i'm a little crazy about them. i absolutely cannot wait 'til next year when both mallory & i will be bringing our little ladies along for the very first time.

john and i ventured off into the forest and found the perfect tree to chop down, bring home and call our own. she's all decorated and lookin' mighty fine for us first timers (photos to come).

there's something about this place that never grows old. even the florida heat and a very large pregnant belly couldn't keep me from smiling away during our annual tree hunting trip. from petting zoos to horseback riding for the littles, to kettle corn and cooking your own hot dog by the fire, i am so thankful for this tradition. and so thankful to be blessed with such an amazing and loving family.

i hope everyone has an amazing week and that your christmas trees fill your house with a smell that's as joyful as mine. i just CAN'T get ENOUGH!

the most magical place on earth.

last year, on thanksgiving eve, john proposed to me with a breakfast picnic in the park before our venture to spend the day at disney world. i am a total sucker for all things disney, and he knew just the way to my heart.

so we thought, what better way to celebrate a year since that special day (and our last trip with just the two of us) than to pack up our snacks and head out to the magic kingdom again?! it was perfect, and surprisingly, for being weeks away from going into labor - i think i held up pretty dang well!

i didn't take near enough photos, but here are some that i DID manage to get out the camera for:

(*note: poor john had NO idea i was snapping that last shot of him, but i just couldn't resist posting it. his face just cracks me up.)

christmas time at disney melts my heart like none other. if only i could've kept my camera out a little more to really capture it in all of it's glory! i cannot wait to bring our little baby bird for the first time.

i hope everyone has a very HAPPY MONDAY! i'll be spending mine sipping on some tea and searching for decorations for john and i's very first christmas tree! we are so excited about this time of year. and only 6 more weeks until our precious little one makes her grand entrance! take care!
